Many of my initial ideas are based on the colours, patterns and textures of the natural world around me.
I enjoy painting landscapes where the emphasis is placed on certain atmospheric conditions such as mist, fog or sunlight and shadows.
These latest paintings represent the seasonal changes in organic lifeforms as they travel along streams and riverbanks here in the Midlands.
I paint mainly in acrylics but like combining other media as the work progresses in order to maintain some spontaneity.
I studied Fine Art at Derby University and continue to be inspired by new technologies.
I now work in my studio every day and exhibit my work at the Open Studios event and at local festivals and arts trails in Derbyshire.
I have had my work exhibited at the Pumphouse gallery in Battersea Park London.
